Solar Energy Diagrams

A collection of solar energy diagrams are available in the following 101 Diagramss to help you learn how the solar panel works. Solar energy is energy created by the heat and light of the sun. Solar power is produced when this energy is converted into electricity or used to heat air, water, or other substances. The images that we have collected in the following images below show basic illustration of solar power diagrams. We’ll start with a diagram of solar energy hitting the earth surface.

A solar energy diagram can be the illustration of the way in which the sun’s rays hit solar collection panels but that is only part of the process of creating solar energy. Solar energy production encompasses several power sources, both passive and active. It’s important to differentiate among the different types of solar energy production systems. In the following images we’ll present solar energy diagrams and discuss the types and how the solar energy works.

Solar panels do not generate electricity, but rather they heat up water. They are often located on the roofs of buildings where they can receive heat energy from the sun. Inside the panel are two silicon wafers about one millimeter thick with a fine grid of electrical contacts, called a diode, in between them. When the sun strikes the outer silicon wafer the energy contained in the photons knocks some of the electrons loose from the silicon particles, which is then captured by the electric field of the diode, and is drained away from the solar panel as electrical energy. The diagram outlines how they work.
