Help yourself to learn more about the structure of animal cell using these hands-on diagrams of animal cell that we have collected in high quality! In these 101 Diagramss, the detailed structures animal cell are illustrated in high quality pictures. The animal cells are eukaryotic cells or cells with a membrane-bound nucleus. Animal cells also contain other membrane-bound organelles, or tiny cellular structures, that carry out specific functions necessary for normal cellular operation. Follow our diagrams below to study more about the animal cell.
There’s a lot inside an animal cell. These cells are multicellular and surrounded by plasma membrane and it contains the nucleus and organelles that are membrane bound. Animal cells are of various sizes and have irregular shapes. Most of the cells size range between 1 and 100 micrometers and are visible only with help of microscope. You can see on the diagram of animal cell above that the components of animal cells are centrioles, cilia and flagella, endoplasmic reticulum, golgi apparatus, lysosomes, microfilaments, microtubules, mitochondria, nucleus, peroxisomes, plasma membrane and ribosomes. More cell diagrams are posted in the following images.
Cytoplasm the liquid within the cell where the different organelles are found. It is here where many functions occur. Including cell division and glycolysis. Meanwhile, mitochondria does the cellular respiration of the cell by converting glucose into ATP (cellular energy). The nucleus is usually the largest organelle in a cell. It consists of different parts such as the nuclear envelope, chromosomes, and the nucleolus.
