Bohr Diagrams

Learn more about nerve system using these hands-on Bohr diagrams that we have collected for you in high quality! In these 101 Diagramss, the detailed structures of the Bohr model are illustrated in a high quality pictures. Bohr diagrams show electrons orbiting the nucleus of an atom somewhat like planets orbit around the sun. In the Bohr model, electrons are pictured as traveling in circles at different shells, depending on which element you have. Scroll down to the bottom to see the model diagrams.

The Bohr diagram posted above postulated that electron orbited the nucleus in shells of fixed distance. This model is proposed by Niels Bohr, which states that early model of the atom as a central nucleus containing protons and neutrons being orbited by electrons in shells. there is a connection between the number of protons in an element, the atomic number that distinguishes one element from another, and the number of electrons it has. Now look at the following model diagrams provided below.

Bohr found that the closer an electron is to the nucleus, the less energy it needs, but the farther away it is, the more energy it needs. So Bohr numbered the electron’s energy levels. The higher the energy-level number, the farther away the electron is from the nucleus — and the higher the energy, and these Bohr diagrams indicate how many electrons fill each principal shell.
